We have started the year learning how to work together in the computer lab. Our friend Zig Zag the tiger, keeps a watchful eye on students who do amazing work, help others or come up with great ideas. Each week, he chooses a student from each class who becomes the technology expert for the day. Later, the Technology Experts will be invited for a lunchtime of fun in the computer lab.
Creating
We have been learning about the Melawati Way (Take care of ourselves, Take care of others, Take care of this place). Students have created pictures on a program called Doozla showing themselves use the Melawati Way. Here are some pictures of their work:
We have been learning about the short vowels sounds. We explored these sounds through reading books on Starfall
Communicating and Collaborating
We have also been learning how to choose "Just Right" Books. We are now learning how to do short video podcasts using Photoboothto record each other sharing these books. We are writing our scripts in class and practicing speaking clearly, in a loud voice and fluently.
